Tweedies Bar - Grasmere
The stone flagged floor and wood burning stove remind you that this is a Lake District pub, but it is also so much more than this. With a carefully selected wine list, plus the ever-changing wines of the month, there is something there for even the most refined of palates.
The food on offer at Tweedies is a fusion of traditional Lake District pub food and contemporary European cuisine. There are the old classics such as steak and Yates ale pie and Cumberland sausage as well as modern favourites such as our homemade 8oz beef burger and our smoked salmon and haddock fishcakes.
Wherever possible we use only the freshest local produce from top class suppliers such as Keswick Game and Fine Meats, Cartmel Valley Game, Lakeland Seafood, Silver and Green, Cumbrian Fellbred.
There are also seven guest ale pumps and a traditional scrumpy pump; regulars include Caledonian Deuchars IPA, Westons Ciders, Theakston’s Old Peculier and others guests from Cornwall to Shetland as well as a range of local ales from: Coniston Brewery, Yates Brewery, Keswick and The Watermill Breweries to name but a few. Tweedies Bar has been awarded CAMRA Westmorland Branch Pub of the Season for spring 2007 and is runner up for pub of the year for 2009.
